Be a Tutor

Academic tutors are needed in the Apprentice Program when an individual is struggling with a particular subject or concept.  If he/she is working to achieve the GED, there is typically more need for individual tutoring than for those who come to ASF with a high school diploma or GED.   Apprentices are in the shop between the hours of 8-3 Monday through Friday.  If you are interested in becoming a tutor, please contact Andrew Brown at 608-843-5464 or

In an in-school partnership with local middle schools, ASF uses project-based learning to improve academic performance and increase math competency in grades 6 through 8.  If you are interested in helping with this program, please call the office at 703-778-0977.
